ABOUT - MATT MILLS | NEW YORK FASHION & BEAUTY PHOTOGRAPHER

Originally from Dallas, Texas, I bring that Southern warmth and hospitality to every shoot, which helps models and creative teams feel comfortable and confident. There's something about making people feel at home that translates directly into better imagery. When everyone's relaxed, the real magic happens.

My photography journey began in the film era, when I learned the basics of light and composition, as every frame truly mattered. I spent a year studying Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech before realizing my heart wasn't in it. After some self-examination, I ended up in Chicago studying Fashion Photography, where I honed my craft and made the leap into digital. That's where I learned to shoot with intention rather than just hoping for the best.

Now based in New York City, I am constantly evolving as a photographer and visual storyteller. I work with both natural and artificial light, and I'm skilled at transforming ordinary spaces into something completely otherworldly. Whether it's a simple studio or on location, I love the challenge of creating scenes that feel cinematic and unexpected.

My niche is shooting fashion and beauty campaigns for brands that aren't afraid to push boundaries. I love working with clients who want imagery that's both polished and has real personality. I love creating work that elevates a brand's visual identity while keeping that timeless quality that won't look dated in five years.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me obsessing over good food, getting into deep conversations about pretty much anything, binge-watching great TV, or wandering through art galleries. Fair warning, though: I'm also known for my terrible dad jokes and puns that make people groan. :)
